BEBA Terms and Conditions

1. Operator and service

HOUSE OF BEBA S.R.L., Romanian tax identifier 45780216, Trade Register number J2022004626402, registered office: Strada Gheorghe Țițeica nr. 169, etaj 3, apartament 8, Sector 2, București, România. Contact for the website, certificates and personal data: bogdan.nedelcov@houseofbeba.com.

beba.art is an artwork presentation archive and a service for verifying and administering BEBA authenticity records. Private View accepts non-binding artwork, selection and bespoke-commission enquiries without an account. The website does not collect payment, automatically reserve works or conclude sales contracts. Availability may change. The studio confirms the final price, shipping, timeline and applicable terms in writing before an offer is accepted. Transactions outside this website are separate and subject to their own terms.

2. Access and acceptance

The public archive may be browsed without an account. To complete registration and use personal features, accept this version of these Terms and the Certificate Rules, and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. We record the version and time of acceptance. Acknowledging the notice is not consent to marketing or unnecessary processing.

Signing in through an identity provider does not give BEBA that provider's password. The provider's rules govern authentication with its service. The providers actually shown in the sign-in form are those currently available.

3. Accounts and minors

Provide accurate information. Use your own identity or a genuine authorisation; do not impersonate another person. Protect access to your identity provider and contact us if you suspect unauthorised account use.

Minors may browse the public content. Self-service registration is available from age 16. If you are under 18, your legal representative must authorise the account and artwork-related claims. For a child under 16, their legal representative may contact us about a representative-managed account and verification of that authority. Do not register on a child's behalf without that verification or send unnecessary information about a child through public fields.

4. Permitted use

You may view artworks, use likes and submit genuine claims concerning artworks you own or are authorised to represent. Forged evidence, fraudulent claims, deceptive use of codes, access to other users' data, system compromise, malicious files and systematic data extraction that circumvents technical measures are prohibited.

Evidence must be relevant. Redact unnecessary third-party details. Do not submit passwords, complete card details, identity documents or unsolicited sensitive information. If additional evidence is needed for a particular case, BEBA will explain its purpose and submission method.

5. Artworks and intellectual property

Artworks, photographs, films, text and branding remain protected by their respective rights holders. Viewing them or owning a physical artwork does not automatically transfer copyright or grant a licence for commercial exploitation, reproduction, adaptation or promotional use. Statutory permitted uses and expressly authorised uses remain available.

You may share a public page link without claiming to represent BEBA. Seek the rights holder's authorisation for other uses. Submitting evidence gives BEBA only the permission necessary to receive, store and examine it for your claim, not a licence to use it in advertising.

6. Certificates and claims

The Certificate Rules form part of these Terms. A code or QR links to a BEBA record; possession of a code alone does not establish ownership of the physical object. A claim is not automatically approved. Owner registration is private and follows review.

Records may be active, under review or revoked. Check the current record rather than an old screenshot. Technical details may be corrected following evidence and checks. A certificate is not a valuation, an investment guarantee or a substitute for documents establishing lawful acquisition.

7. Availability, moderation and liability

We use reasonable care to operate the service and maintain accurate information, but interruptions, playback errors, colour differences and information awaiting review may occur. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that a digital image exactly reproduces every physical characteristic. We seek to correct material errors brought to our attention.

We may temporarily restrict features for security, maintenance or investigation of concrete indications of fraud. Measures must be proportionate. Where this does not compromise security or an investigation, we provide an explanation and a way to request review by contacting us. These Terms do not exclude liabilities or mandatory user rights that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Closing an account

You may request deletion from your account. Access is closed and personal data are erased from operational systems, except the minimum needed to prevent access through old sessions or records required in a specific legally justified case. If an external service is temporarily unavailable, erasure continues in the background. You may also contact us to request erasure or exercise other rights.

Closing an account does not destroy artwork authenticity records, invalidate the artwork or transfer ownership. The private owner link in the account is removed. Independent Google, Microsoft, ChatGPT and other provider accounts are not deleted by this feature. The last administrator must appoint another active administrator before closing their account.

9. Changes and complaints

We publish the current version and update date. For changes materially affecting account rights or obligations, we communicate the change and require acceptance of the new version before personal features continue. Changes do not retrospectively turn a truthful claim into fraud or remove accrued rights.

To report an issue, contact us with the page, any certificate code and the outcome you seek. We review complaints and respond within a reasonable period; personal-data requests follow the Privacy Notice deadlines. Romanian law applies without removing mandatory protections applicable to you. Court jurisdiction is determined by law; we do not require you to waive access to competent authorities or courts.

BEBA Certificate Rules

1. Meaning of a BEBA record

The registry identifies artworks for which BEBA maintains authenticity information. A code and QR link to the current record. Active status means BEBA recognises that record as active based on information held at review. A certificate image or knowledge of a code alone does not prove the presented object is the described artwork.

The registry page is not a transfer-of-title document, financial valuation, promise of future value or guarantee that no dispute exists. For an off-site purchase, check the seller, physical object and provenance documents.

2. Status and artwork details

Active: the record is available for verification and, where permitted, claims. Under review: information needs examination; do not assume approval. Revoked: the record is no longer active and cannot support a new claim pending clarification.

Read the description, dimensions, medium, year, edition and image together. Report errors with relevant evidence. Registry corrections must not be used to fabricate or alter the object's provenance.

3. Claims and evidence

A claimant must be a lawful holder or authorised representative and explain acquisition. Artwork and physical-certificate photographs assist review but do not replace legal acquisition documents. BEBA may seek proportionate clarification and decline unsupported or false claims.

A person reviews claims. Submission, sign-in and a confirmation checkbox do not cause automatic approval. An existing owner link or incompatible claims require further checks. The public page does not disclose the claimant's identity or evidence.

4. Holder changes, revocation and accounts

A registry holder change requires a request and appropriate evidence; it is not achieved by sharing a password or selling an account. Adding or removing a private link does not transfer title to the object. Contact the operator for a transfer and retain the actual transaction documents.

BEBA may revoke a record for material errors, forgery or other documented reasons. You may request reasons and review. Account erasure removes its private link without deleting the artwork code and non-personal record, protecting registry continuity and other holders' rights.
